Parking occupancy measurement
Live occupancy, arrival patterns and stay length for car parks, forecourts and kerbside zones, measured anonymously with LiDAR or AI cameras and delivered in the same platform as your visitor data.
The car park is the first room of the venue
For a shopping destination, a forecourt or an event site, the visit often starts and ends in the car park, and yet parking is usually the least measured space on the property. Ticket systems see only barriers; assumptions see even less. Barrier-free facilities and open forecourts often have no numbers at all.
Continuous parking measurement fills that gap. LiDAR or AI camera counting at entries, exits and zones turns movement into live occupancy against capacity, arrival curves and stay-length distributions, anonymously: no plates, no identities, no footage kept for the count.
Occupancy against visits: what the ratio reveals
Parking data earns most when read against the rest of the visit. Occupancy against footfall shows whether full car parks mean full venues or just long stays; stay length against dwell shows whether parking limits are cutting visits short; traffic counts upstream show the demand the facility never captured. One platform carries all three, on one timeline.

Why measure parking with Bumbee Labs
-
Occupancy as it happens
Live occupancy against capacity shows when a facility actually fills, empties and turns over, instead of relying on ticket data or assumptions.
-
Anonymous by design
Counting entries, exits and occupancy requires no identities. LiDAR measures without imagery; AI camera counting outputs numbers, not footage.
-
Parking against visits
Parking data lands beside footfall and traffic data in one platform, so stay length and occupancy can be read against what visitors actually did.
We are very excited by this collaboration with Bumbee Labs as their data expertise will complement our IoT know-how providing an unparalleled service to our clients across several verticals, industries and markets in the Middle East.
Frequently asked questions
How is occupancy measured without tickets or barriers?
By counting movement at entries, exits and zones: LiDAR or AI camera counting registers vehicles in and out, and occupancy is the running balance against capacity. That works for barrier-free facilities, forecourts and kerbside zones where ticket data does not exist.
Is any personal data involved?
Counting vehicles needs no identity. LiDAR produces no imagery at all, and AI camera counting outputs numbers rather than footage; no number plates are needed for occupancy. Facilities that separately require plate-based enforcement run that under their own framework; it is not part of the counting.
What does parking data add that footfall alone misses?
The start of the visit. Reading occupancy and stay length against in-venue footfall shows whether parking pressure limits visits, how long parking stays support how much dwell, and what an event does to arrivals, questions neither dataset answers alone.
