Xovis PF series
The PF-L is the newest Xovis 3D sensor. It covers a much larger area per unit than the PC series, has far more processing power on board and measures where people look with Attention Metrics. Fewer sensors cover a whole floor, and we turn their data into analytics.

What the PF changes
-
More floor per sensor
One PF-L covers a much larger area than a PC sensor at the same height, so a store floor needs fewer units, less cabling and less installation work.
-
Attention Metrics on the sensor
Built on view direction, Attention Metrics shows how many people turned towards a display, window or screen, measured on the device.
-
Quicker to set up
Automatic height detection and calibration cut the time from mounting to first counts, and the sensor runs the same software and APIs as the PC series.
What a PF sensor measures
On the PF series, these KPIs reach your dashboards and API:
- In / out counts and occupancy across a whole floor
- Paths, zone flows and dwell per area
- Attention towards displays, windows and screens
- Demographics and object detection (AI extensions)
- Heatmaps of where people spend time
What is the Xovis PF-L?
The PF-L is the latest generation of Xovis 3D sensors, built on a new AI chip and optical system. It tracks people across a much wider area than earlier models, runs more demanding analysis on the device and, like every Xovis sensor, sends out only metadata. It is aimed at teams that want to move from counting at the door to analysing the whole floor.
Where does the PF work best?
- Large store floors and department stores. Paths, dwell and heatmaps across the sales floor with a fraction of the sensors a PC layout would need.
- Retail media and window displays. Attention Metrics shows whether screens and displays are looked at, which gives campaigns a measurable outcome. See retail media network footfall measurement.
- Showrooms, libraries and open offices. Occupancy and zone use across open spaces.
PF or PC: how do you decide?
Choose the PF when you want floor-wide analysis, fewer sensors or attention data. Choose the PC series when you need staff exclusion today, when the ceiling is above 6 metres (PC3), or when you are extending an existing PC installation. Mixed setups work too: PF and PC sensors can share one multisensor, and both report into the same dashboards and API.
Curious what this looks like for your venue?
We have extensively evaluated Bumbee Labs' solution and the quality insights they produce, in combination with the efficiency of the remote installation process, make this a valuable collaboration. This alliance presents a great opportunity for our distribution ecosystem to provide a variety of service offerings to their customers, opening up new revenue streams.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the PF-L and the PC2?
Both count and track people in 3D at normal ceiling heights. The PF-L covers a much larger area per sensor, has far more processing power and adds Attention Metrics. The PC2 is the established choice for single entrances and supports staff exclusion, which the PF does not have yet.
How high can a PF-L be mounted?
Between 2 and 6 metres. For higher ceilings, the PC3 series applies.
Does the PF series support staff exclusion?
Not yet. Xovis has said new approaches for staff exclusion on the PF are planned. If excluding staff is essential today, we combine PF sensors on the floor with PC sensors at the entrances, which can run in the same multisensor.
How many PF sensors can be combined?
Up to 15 PF sensors form one multisensor without extra hardware, and PF and PC sensors can be mixed. Larger installations use a Xovis SPIDER unit.
What are Attention Metrics used for?
To measure whether a window display, end-cap or digital screen actually catches attention, not just how many people pass it. Retail media and merchandising teams use it to compare placements and campaigns.
