Xovis sensors

Xovis PC3 series

The PC3 is the Xovis 3D sensor for high ceilings: airport terminals, railway stations, arenas and exhibition halls, mounted from 6 up to 20 metres. One sensor sees a large area from high up, so big spaces need fewer units. We size the setup and turn the data into analytics.

Xovis Certified Partner. PC3 sensors sized to your ceiling height.

Why the PC3 for large spaces

  1. Built for height

Variants cover bands from 6 to 20 metres, so the sensor matches the ceiling instead of forcing a lower mount.

  2. Large areas, few sensors

Mounted high, each sensor covers a wide floor area, and several combine into one multisensor that follows people across the hall.

  3. Privacy at scale

Even in a crowded terminal, only metadata leaves the sensor, with no video stream and no personal images stored.

What a PC3 installation measures

In terminals, stations and halls, these KPIs reach your dashboards and API:

  • Passenger and visitor flows through halls and gates
  • Queue length and waiting time at security, check-in and ticketing
  • Real-time occupancy per zone against capacity limits
  • Dwell time in retail and waiting areas
  • Object detection such as prams, wheelchairs and luggage carts (AI extensions)

What is the Xovis PC3?

The PC3 is Xovis’s 3D stereo-vision sensor for high mounting points. It counts and tracks people on the device from up to 20 metres, sends out only metadata and stores counts locally, so large transport and venue buildings can be measured without a camera network or video storage.

Which PC3 variant fits your ceiling?

The PC3SE is split into variants by mounting height, from about 6 to 9 metres at the low end to 16 to 20 metres for the highest halls, with a basic model covering 6 to 14 metres. An outdoor version handles canopies and platforms. We match each mounting point to the right variant using Xovis’s coverage tools before anything is ordered.

Where does the PC3 work best?

  • Airports. Security and check-in queues, gate areas and baggage halls. See airport queues and dwell time.
  • Railway stations. Concourse flows, platform load and entrances. See train station passenger flow.
  • Arenas, fairs and exhibition halls. Occupancy per zone and entrance flows when tens of thousands move through in a day.

How is a large PC3 installation joined up?

Several sensors combine into a multisensor that follows people across the floor as one area. For very large buildings, a Xovis SPIDER unit connects a big network of sensors and sends one data stream to our platform, where it becomes KPIs alongside your other sites.

Frequently asked questions

How high can a Xovis PC3 sensor be mounted?

From 6 metres up to 20 metres. The PC3SE comes in variants for different height bands, from low to ultra-high, and we pick the one that matches each mounting point.

When should I choose the PC3 over the PC2?

When the ceiling is above about 6 metres, or when you want to cover a large open floor with fewer sensors. Below 6 metres, the PC2 or the PF series is usually the better fit.

Is there an outdoor PC3?

Yes. The outdoor PC3SE comes in a housing protected against water and dust and is rated for cold weather, which suits canopies, platforms and outdoor event entrances.

Can the PC3 measure airport queues?

Yes. Queue length, waiting time and throughput at security and check-in are among the most common PC3 uses, and they come through in real time so staff can be moved before a queue builds.
