Bumbee Labs, which works with footfall measurement, has appointed a new CEO. Karl Samuelsson, previously the company’s head of growth, takes over the role.
Karl is a lawyer by training and has a long career in the media industry behind him, before he chose to join Bumbee Labs earlier this year. Karl has previously held various management roles at MTG and joins most recently from Lagardère Sports.
Shifting the focus
“We have a strong basis to grow quickly, and with my background in sales-driven industries we can rapidly shift the company from a development focus to a sales focus. We have a good product, a good team and an already strong position in the market. I am full of confidence about the future,” says Karl Samuelsson.
Staffan Liljestrand, founder of the company and CEO since its start, becomes head of analytics and takes over product development. Staffan will also spend more time meeting potential partners and lead the company’s public engagement on Smart Cities.
New chair
In connection with the change of CEO, Peter Liljestrand becomes chair of the company. Peter runs the business incubator Camp Jarl, which includes Star Stable, SpiffX, Esportal and Bumbee Labs.
