Move passengers smoothly, and earn more from the hub
Stations, terminals and airports carry extraordinary volumes through complex spaces. The same passenger data that smooths flow and safety also values your retail, F&B and advertising.
Concourse-to-platform flows, privacy-first, no personal data.
Why transport hubs choose Bumbee Labs
-
Smooth flow in real time
Visits and dwell per zone plus real-time crowding let you manage bottlenecks and crowd control as they happen, across check-in, security, gates and corridors.
-
Earn more from the space
The conversion funnel lifts spend in retail and F&B, while exposure and event metrics value advertising and pop-up spaces as a basis for rents.
-
Built for public infrastructure
Anonymous by design and approved by a data protection authority, which matters when the venue is public infrastructure.
The job to be done
A transport hub is a high-volume operation with many stakeholders (property owners and management, transport companies, retailers and F&B, media operators, security and authorities). Each has questions: How many visitors, when are the peaks, and how long do they stay in each zone? Where do people enter, exit, and go next? Where do bottlenecks and crowding form? How do we lift spend in shops and F&B, and value our advertising and event spaces? When should maintenance, cleaning and deliveries happen to disturb travellers least? It’s “zone analytics”: distinct areas (check-in, security, gates, food court, duty-free, lounges, corridors) each run differently, all interdependent.
Zone analytics across the whole hub
Bumbee Labs measures movement and dwell across every zone, usually on the access points already deployed (not all of them are needed; a few extra cover passing-by frontages). For very large open-air or multi-entrance sites (airports especially) Wi-Fi can be fused with 3D sensors at entrances for high-precision counts where it matters. Data flows to stakeholder-specific dashboards or into your own BI via API. And it clears the privacy bar that public infrastructure sets, because it is the only footfall method in Europe approved by a data protection authority.

What data you get
- Visits and dwell time, total and per zone.
- Real-time crowding: manage bottlenecks and crowd control as they happen.
- Paths, flows and zone correlation: where travellers come from, where they go, cross-shopping between locations.
- The conversion funnel from passer-by to buyer, the lever for lifting spend in retail and F&B.
- Screen and event metrics: exposure and impact for advertising and pop-up spaces, as a basis for rents.
- Periodic reporting at whatever cadence suits, hourly to monthly, for staffing, cleaning, maintenance and stakeholder updates.

Proof: a major Stockholm interchange
A major Stockholm interchange put this playbook to work: with zone analytics it rebalanced staffing, eased bottlenecks, grew retail and F&B spend and priced its advertising space on real footfall, even taking footfall numbers into tenant rent talks.

Where this fits
Airports have their own end-to-end journey and method mix (see airport analytics). Stations are also the gateway to the surrounding centre (see city centres & smart cities).
We are very excited by this collaboration with Bumbee Labs as their data expertise will complement our IoT know-how providing an unparalleled service to our clients across several verticals, industries and markets in the Middle East.
Frequently asked questions
Can you measure each zone separately across a complex hub?
Yes. Each zone (from check-in and security through to the food court and lounges) is measured in its own right, with flows and cross-shopping between zones reported alongside.
How do you handle very large or multi-entrance sites like airports?
Wi-Fi handles flows and dwell across the site, and at very large or multi-entrance hubs we add 3D sensors at the doors where in/out precision matters most.
Can the data feed our own systems?
Yes. Data flows to stakeholder-specific dashboards or straight into your own BI via API, with periodic reporting from hourly to monthly.
Compliant where it counts
A data protection authority has approved the method; academia, partners and customers have validated it. Passenger insight with no personal data.
